Beauty will always find a way…
Beauty will always find a way…
The rose would have to be one of the world’s most beautiful flowers. It’s beauty was so great and it’s scent so highly prized that it made its way around the world, in a time when moving around the world was not an easy thing.
My roses have been poorly tended to. A few weeks ago I did make a start and began weeding around them, but then other things took my attention and once again they have been neglected. It is winter here in Australia so there isn’t much growth at the moment. I went outside to feel the warmth of the sun despite the cold winds that are blowing, and walked over to my roses. What should I find? A flower and a couple of buds.
As I stood there and looked at them, I realised that no matter the conditions, the rose, and nature in general, will find a way to continue to be beautiful. It will find a way to give its beauty to the world. The rose does so quietly, in its stillness. It doesn’t think, it doesn’t worry about how it will survive, or die. It just is, and it surrenders to what is. It cannot control its conditions but it can thrive, despite of.
There is much that can be learned from nature, if we truly take the time to connect with it. Nature is here to provide for us. It is gifted to us for our survival, but as such we need to likewise tend to nature. We are not separate from any of the wonders of the universe. The microcosm and the macrocosm are one and the same. As within, so without. Now reverse that, As without, so within.
I woke up one morning last week and the message I received upon waking was, “Tend to your inner garden.” Weeds are trying to grow and overtake my peaceful inner sanctuary. My inner garden. Some have planted deep roots and others are trying to establish themselves there, but I am aware of this. I am taking the steps necessary to feed the roses in my inner garden so that the weeds will be pushed out. I connect daily with the Divine source that resides in, and nourishes, my inner garden, the “within.” By doing so, I can also see the results “without.”
It is wise to be mindful of our untethered thoughts. They can feed the weeds (fear) or the flowers (love and kindness). You choose. It is also wise to keep our negative thoughts to ourselves for processing, releasing and healing. Speaking words mindlessly with fear and anger is the poison that will kill the flowers. Fear, (the weeds), feeds off fear.
“Tend to your inner garden.” As within, so without. 🌹
